Vicki Syal is a Brazilian & Indian filmmaker who has been producing diverse content since 2010. Her work spans short films, commercials, music videos, episodic, and features. Rooted in social issues, her films have been official selections at prestigious festivals including LALIFF, HBO Women in Comedy Festival, LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, Outfest, LA Pride, Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, and more.

 

Vicki produced The 90 DAY PLAN which won BEST OF FEST at HBO Women in Comedy Festival (2020) and distributed with HBOMax. She produced the short-musical comedy BERTIE THE BRILLIANT (2022) co-financed by WarnerMedia and Latino Public Broadcasting, which premiered as part of the Academy of Motion Picture NFMLA: LatinX and Hispanic Cinema, and distributed with PBS. In 2024, she co-wrote and produced WHAT TO EXPECT, a short film financed by Latino Public Broadcasting that will distribute with PBS. In 2024, she produced a short film for Warner Brothers in celebration of the studio’s 100th Anniversary.

Vicki has produced three feature films LOVE DOLL (20219) available on Mubi and Amazon Prime, GIVE ME AN A (2022), and STAKES IS HIGH (2024) winner of the Narrative Grand Jury Prize at DIFF. She has produced commercials for brands including Microsoft, Nissan, & Pretty Litter, as well as several seasons of digital content for Jellysmack. She produced SCIENCE OF DREAMS for Healthline, and the series: JO STEEL GHOSTOBER for Discovery+.

 

Vicki is currently the Head of Production for Pollution Studios, where she oversees daily operations and post-production. Her commitment to creating inclusive and empowering sets is paramount to her ethos.
